i was born in buxton 55 yrs ago. my maiden name was austin and my maternal grandmom was a gaskins.my dad was wilbur austin and my uncle was robert austin.my maternal aunt was ruth austin,wife of moody austin.she lived next door to my dad's brother,robert austin.i don't get back there as much as i would love to,but i love buxton and hatteras village.it will always be home to me.

The Cape Hatteras Light House cam shows the photo at Ocracoke Island so which is it. The are two different islands. Also, what happened to the Frisco Pier cam which is on Hatteras Island?

have stayed at Buxton since we've been coming to Hatteras. One beautiful place with Ocean on both sides of where we stay. Went in the lighthouse the year before it moved and the year after. makes me cry when I get there and cry when it's time to leave.

News Flash: More than 19 miles of outer banks beaches are still open to vehicle traffic, many more miles to pedestrians, and, yes, some beaches are closed to protect nesting protected species. Wow!
